“TypeReader also does not need to be trained to recognize unusual fonts,”

“TypeReader gave the best results in my testing, especially with different pages, such as faxes and pages with unusual sizes and style of type fonts ...”
Los Angles Times

“The technology is advanced; the power and sophistication are impressive ... TypeReader is a superb choice for anyone in the market for a top-self OCR product.”
Windows Magazine

“TypeReader matches or outperforms even the best of its competition when it comes to character accuracy, thanks largely to its deft handling of small fonts, draft-quality matrix print, and other difficult samples ...”
InfoWorld

"OmniPage Professional's error rate increased dramatically with 6-point type, especially when compared with that of TypeReader...TypeReader offers capability across a range of fonts and materials that none of its competition can thus far match, making it a top choice for nearly any application...”
PC Magazine

“The product that had the highest accuracy rate on the more challenging documents was TypeReader...”
Word Perfect for Windows Magazine

“ExperVision certainly can read some fonts the leading off-the-shelf packages can’t”
PC Week

“We scanned the same paragraph in 12-point Zapf Chancery with TypeReader, OmniPage Pro, and WordScan Plus ( products of two major competitors ), for example, and TypeReader delivered a significant higher accuracy rate than either of its rivals. TypeReader distinguishes itself from the competition with the ability to recognize an impressive variety of font...”

“Our Conclusions: ExperVision’s TypeReader is the First Place winner for accuracy,”
Imaging Magazine

“ExperVision’s TypeReader was the most accurate overall, and this alone would deserve the best buy award. ...-- it is based on later technology (than OmniPage, AccuText, etc.) and it showed, especially when processing difficult pages with text that joined or was breaking up”
MacUser

“ExperVision, Inc. has pioneered a proprietary character recognition technology that represents a new and unique departure from existing technologies. ... TypeReader keeps total document accuracy high when working with original as well as degraded documents; non-stylized as well stylized fonts; correct as well as imperfect scanning; and simple as well as complex page formats.”
Indy PC News

“TypeReader Professional is one of OCR champions, with exceptional levels of accuracy and convenience...It’s interactive correction window is fast and easy to use, but you won’t have to use it much--TypeReader tends to get its OCR right the first time.”
Computer Shopper

“A tougher OCR test is translating skewed pages. OmniPage created random gibberish when translating pages skewed more than 5 percent; even some low cost OCR products can do better than that. However TypeReader perfectly translated a photocopied business letter skewed by as much as 15 percent...TypeReader Professional 3.0XA is faster and more accurate (than OmniPage Professional 6.0)...However, OCR software is more commonly used to convert a pile of paper documents into editable text files. For that TypeReader Professional 3.0XA is faster and more accurate (than OmniPage 6.0).”
PC Magazine

“ExperVision has introduced a technology it calls Fragment Analysis to its OCR package...TypeReader is certainly powerful...all but TypeReader Professional encountered problems with our skewed text sample...TypeReader Professional is the way to go...It performed extremely well in both automatic and manual modes...TypeReader Professional took the test page, straightened it and then recognized it. Other software packages (TypeReader Professional, OmniPage Professional, OmniPage Direct and Xerox TextBridge) had problems recognizing the words, let alone de-skewing the image...”
MacUser

“ExperVision has produced an excellent OCR product called TypeReader 3.0XA...Many times faxes and other documents have background color, marks and lines. This program automatically removes them as it scans...I have tried several OCR programs and most of them are not as fast or accurate as TypeReader. It even retains the complete document format and layout...I highly recommend this product to all those who like to save time...”
Toledo PC Users Group

“TypeReader was significantly more accurate than all other products...with TypeReader’s impressive 99.5% accuracy...”
MacUser

“TypeReader is now affordable, and the OCR for real world documents (Faxes, photocopies, dot-matrix documents)...OCR products are typically capable of recognizing approximately 200-300 plain, non-stylized typefaces. Using TypeReader’s recognition technology, TypeReader can recognize more than 2,000 typefaces. TypeReader can do these basic tasks, but it can also get the entire page into your word processor or spreadsheet as is - retaining the shape, form, type and spacing, as well as the content of the input page.”
Blue Chips Magazine

“I was impressed that TypeReader Professional was able to recognize text on a gray background and produce an almost perfect text copy on screen. Other OCR programs I have used balk at this kind of operation?”
Micro Computer Mart (UK)

“Caere and Xerox products may have the highest profiles in the OCR market today, but in our tests, TypeReader Pro from ExperVision, Inc. of California achieved the highest consistent levels of accuracy across the widest range of scanned documents. ... The new version of TypeReader Pro [TypeReader Pro 4.0] demonstrates even higher levels of accuracy and delivers improvements in format and page layout retention...With TypeReader’s improved ability to replicate the page layout of the original document, its speed, and enhancements to its already consistently high levels of accuracy, it continues to be a very strong contender in the OCR category.”
Law Office Technology

“Again, the accuracy difference may only have been a few words here and there. But OCR users will tell you that it is those niggling errors here and there that aggravate the OCR process. Reduce these in any way and you have done much to improve productivity and helped maintain sanity. TypeReader definitely gets high marks in this category.”
Central Jersey Comp. Club

“With the majority of the test-fonts, the software (TypeReader Pro 5.0) achieved 100% accuracy, falling to between around 90% on some of the more obscure variations. With Arial, Century Gothic, Verdana, and Times New Roman it managed to get 100% recognition on a variety of different sizes. It even managed to recognize single words with mixed font sizes - particularly impressive. Surprisingly, it failed to recognize the Courier New font (pitch 12) - here it only achieved a 15-20% recognition rate. It also failed to acknowledge a paragraph in Times New Roman pitch 8, and saw it only as a graphic image.”
